From the Airport
The most suitable airport is Barcelona (BCN) Airport which is 12.3 km away from Barcelona city centre.
The Aerobus is a fast (35 minutes) and economical (5.90€) shuttle bus that connects Barcelona – El Prat airport (Terminals 1 and 2) with the city centre of Barcelona (Place de Catalunya).
The train station is 3 minutes walk from Terminal 2, just follow the directions: Travel time : 30 minutes from the T2 to the centre of Barcelona on average .
Barcelona Airport’s two T1 and T2 terminals are connected to the Barcelona metro network, which is very convenient for travellers. You just need to know:
- That line 9 (L9) does not go directly to downtown. For example, it is necessary to change at Torrassa to take the red line linking Universitat or Catalonia square. Change Collblanc to take the blue line towards Provença, Diagonal or Sagrada Familia.
There are always a large number of taxis available at Barcelona Airport. They cannot be hailed randomly – it is necessary to join a queue, where you will be directed to a taxi that is waiting. Taxis are located outside T1 and T2 terminals.
The standard Barcelona taxis are black with yellow sides. There is lots of public transport available in Barcelona. If you do wish to travel by taxi you can use the numbers below.
